The easiest way to install Everfund into a WordPress website is by downloading Everfund's plugin in the WordPress plugin store or download it directly from WordPress here as it is version controlled and can always be updated automatically through WordPress plugin system.
Overview
The Everfund WordPress plugin allows you to easily integrate Everfund’s donation functionality into your WordPress website. This guide will walk you through the installation process.
Installation Steps
Access the WordPress Plugin Directory
- Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard
- Navigate to “Plugins” > “Add New”
Search and Install
- In the search bar, type “Everfund”
- Locate the “Everfund Donation Widget” in the results
- Click “Install Now”
Activate the Plugin
- After installation, click “Activate”
- (Optional) Enable auto-updates for the plugin
Verify Installation
- Look for a new “Donations” item in the admin sidebar
- This indicates successful installation and provides quick access to widget settings
Adding a Donation Button (Using Gutenberg Editor)
- Create a new page or post
- Add a Everfund Donation Modal
- Click on the button and select “Edit as HTML”
- On the right hand bar enter the channel key you get from the dashboard
- Save the changes
Manual Integration
You can also add the Everfund donation functionality to any element on your site by adding the data-ef-modal attribute with your Everfund ID.
